The Death Ray is the primary weapon on all Furon Saucers throughout the Destroy All Humans! series. Its devastating effects on the landscape and surrounding structures is quite gratifying. While the Death Ray has unlimited energy, it must recharge between bursts. The Death Ray is always the first weapon the Saucer is equipped with. In Path of the Furon, it can leave its toasted mark on buildings and terrain.

It can also vaporize humans for meters around even when they are outside the beam. This is probably due to the fact that it is so hot that it generates devastating heat waves outside the beam vaporizing them. The Death Ray has the same killing animation as the Disintegrator Ray carried by Crypto but it's hard to notice. It takes one quick burst to kill most civilians and Police officers but will only set Majestic agents and Army Soldiers ablaze making firing long bursts aggravating to kill multiple targets. Most civilian and Police cars take little to no time to destroy with the Death Ray, but Army trucks and tanks are very difficult to destroy due to their armor. It's better to throw Army vehicles or use other weapons; the Majestic cars are hard to destroy due to their being fast and strong which makes taking them on with the Death Ray difficult (let alone without the upgrades). Also, the Death Ray is probably a reference to various 1950s space invader movies. An example is the classic War of the Worlds movie when alien Saucers used Death Rays to vaporize humans.
